Agile and Beyond 2016

As an enthusiastic problem solver, analyst, and solution designer you were thrilled to be asked to {design the UI | document the solution | design the kanban board | solve the bottleneck | plan the office mini-golf course | storm the castle}. You researched the problem, weighed the options, considered the alternatives, and put your best effort into the final deliverable. Your presentation to the team was flawless - not one PowerPoint slide with more than 5 words on it! But, while everyone knew that your solution was awesome, it was ultimately trashed, warped, abused, tortured, discarded, and ignored. What happened? You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Your design sucks because it isn't mine."
